Wizard to create effective mobile apps in Flash Lite 1.1

Richard wrote the news in the Macromedia FlashLite newsgroup :

SWF2SIS is a wizard designed to help you create more effective applications in Flash Lite 1.1 for mobile handsets using the Series 60 Operating system from Symbian.

In short, SWF2SIS provides a way to package your application .swf file with any extra files (sfws, txt files etc.) and attach an icon which will appear on the handset's menu, then save it all in a single installer file.

It looks like  great tool for flashliters :)

Multimedia, FLV and accessibility: download slides

Some people asked me for having the slides of my conference hold during ParkLife event in Rome.
The title of the conference was :

Visiting park sites
New media, accessibility and information:
a strategy to communicate for all

We discussed about the  Italian guidelines for the Accessibility. (law n.4), proposed by the Minister for Innovation and Technologies and written by The Minister Lucio Stanca.
I focused about using technology and multimedia and make it accessibile for all people.
Less than a years ago, I worked on a project for RAI, the Italian, state-owned TV conglomerate, which uses Flash Communication Server, Real Media and SMIL for synchronizing video and text.
We're publishing the new version redeveloped entirely using Flash Comm server !

Back from France FlashFestival 2005

I have to admit it was for fun. Not work !
I was with my fiancee in Paris. She has never been in France, so I hit the ball and we decided to visit the capital for one day.
I attended Mike Chamber's session and it was very cool and rich of information.
No time to say hello to Mike. Mouline Rouge was waiting for us. :)

Great time but one day is not enough to visit and see the beatyness of Paris.
I'll come back.

BBC chose Quicktime and Windows Media for its MotionGallery site

A friend of mine emailed me this site developed by BBC where you can find access to thousands of shots from the vast and diverse archives of the BBC and CBS News.
While I were connecting I hoped to see Flash Video used for video files, instead BBC chose Quictime and Windows Media formats :(

AccRepair Flash extension for testing accessibility

During the last course I held about Accessibility, I used the AccRepair Flash extension for showing people how to validate accessibility flash projects.

AccRepair allows users to interactively and quickly validate the accessibility level of their Flash application and to immediately make repairs where required. AccRepair provides an integrated facility for Flash developers to work within their development environment to ensure that their presentations are accessible in conformance with the applicable guidelines.

It's not free but it worths !

Macromedia FlashLite 1.1 Breeze session

I missed it but I'll wait the recorded version :).
