So I'm back from a trip to Tokyo and the first news I read is that Flex Builder 4 (codename Gumbo) will be renamed to Flash Builder !

I don't think you're book is going to stop selling. Flex is still really, really important and it's still the name of the framework.
Now you should keep working on the second version and incorporate all of the Flex 4/Flash Builder 4 goodness, but the old one will sell :)

My first Flex book. Still the much loved one!
Of course its not going to stop selling, there is no reason for this.
Looking forward to the 2nd one.

I don't think renaming it is such a good decision. Flash name carries a strong bias toward unnecessary animation, closed source and toy technology. When I mention Flex to my clients here in South America, they are usually open to hear what I have to say. Once I mention Flash, things get a lot harder.
By the way, I'm on the software development business, not the Web designing business. So this may be a good move from the web designer perspective.
Just my 2c...

Things Adobe should do:
1. avoid all this noise about developers and designers;
2. give for free the flex builder standard edition;
3. low price for the pro edition;
4. abandon MXML! It is incredible one should not use the proprietary MovieClip and Timeline but SHOULD learn MXML!
Moreover, "Flash Builder 4" sounds confusing when you sell a product called
"Flash Professional CS4"...

I am not really sure if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your great job is clearly identifed. I was wondering if you offer any subscription to your RSS feeds as I would be very interested and can't find any link to subscribe here. Please come visit my site Lobby Hobby Directory when you got time.
