Nokia is about to release its mobile server.
The primary goals of this project were to bring a full-fledged webserver to S60 and to
make a webserver running on a mobile phone accessible from the Internet
using any web browser (other info on Tommi S60 blog).
For FlashLite developers it gives the ability to develop data oriented applications that call server side Python script.
That's because the Nokia Mobile Server runs on Python !
Darla Mack had the opportunity to test it and give us some great information :
Nokia's Mobile Web allows users to:
- Post blog entries for web visitors to view and leave comments.
- Share calendar entries from your device to web viewers.
- Send SMS messages from the web to the MWS user.
- Sign MWS users guestbook.
- View images on the web from the gallery of the MWS user's device.
- View phone log of missed calls.
- Look up contacts phone numbers.
